MyNetflix Version 2 FAQ
Is this application endorsed by Netflix?
No. This application uses the Netflix service, but is not affiliated with Netflix, nor is it supported by them. Use this software at your own risk.
Does MyNetflix run on Windows XP Media Center Edition?
No. MyNetflix uses the new MCML (Media Center Markup Language) development framework, which is only supported on Windows Vista Media Center
Why did MyNetflix start with version 2.0?
There was a previous version of MyNetflix that was written by Ryan Hurst (
www.unmitigatedrisk.com). Ryan announced that he was discontinuing support of the product, which why I started with version 2.0. This new version does not use any of the code from version 1, this is a complete rewrite in MCML (Media Center Markup Language) for Windows Vista.
Did anyone else contribute to the development of MyNetflix?
Not directly. I would, however, like to thank the following people, who contributed indirectly to the MyNetflix project:
Ryan Hurst - Ryan wrote the original version of MyNetflix that was designed to run within Media Center 2005. This version was the inspiration for this new version, which was written using the Media Center Markup Language (MCML) for Windows Vista. Ryan has also been very helpful in getting the word out about this new version, and in providing feedback about features/issues.
Does MyNetflix use any third-party libraries?
No.
Does this application use supported interfaces provided by Netflix?
No. MyNetflix uses the RSS feeds provided by Netflix for many of the features. For other features, this application emulates a browser to gather some of the content. Changes to the Netflix website may break some of the features in this application.
Where do I find MyNetflix inside of Media Center or on my Extender?
There is a button to launch MyNetflix inside of Media Center. You have to navigate to the Online Media | Program Library section. MyNetflix should show up in there on both the Media Center PC and on the extender.
Does MyNetflix work on the Media Center Extender devices?
Yes, MyNetflix works on any Media Center Extender device which supports Windows Vista Media Center. The watchnow feature currently does not work on the extender, but I am working on a solution for that. No promises, though...

Oh no! I'm at the bottom of the FAQ, and my question has not been answered?
